Inter Miami CF Battles for Florida Today – March 2

Inter Miami CF is off to a great start in the 2024 MLS season. The club is 1-1-0 after winning the opening match of the season against Real Salt Lake 2-0. Then, a Lionel Messi goal helped Inter Miami secure a draw in last Saturday’s match against the LA Galaxy. Tonight, Messi and company will take on Orlando City SC at home at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Orlando City is 0-1-0 so far this season, playing to a draw in its first match of the season with Montreal. Orlando travels to Inter Miami for the first time this season. With Messi and Luis Suarez, signed this offseason, Inter Miami CF is the overall betting favorite to win this year’s MLS Cup. Inter Miami is given +250 odds, ahead of LAFC (+750) and last year’s champion Columbus Crew (+870).

Inter Miami Drives Interest in MLS

A year ago, Inter Miami CF was the worst team in MLS. Even with the signing of Messi late in the season, Inter Miami finished the 2023 campaign with a record of 9-7-18. The club finished in 14th place in the 15-team Eastern Conference.

Messi joined Inter Miami on July 21. His first match was in Leagues Cup play. Messi would go on to lead Inter Miami to the Leagues Cup title. Messi scored 11 goals in 11 games with Inter Miami before missing the end of the season with a hamstring injury.

Messi has added millions in value to the Inter Miami franchise

The Argentinian star signed a deal with Inter Miami worth about $12 million per season in salary. His total compensation per year exceeds $20 million. His signing turned a relatively new franchise from a loser into a huge winner. The wins are starting to come on the pitch, but the real wins have come in the form of dollars for Inter Miami. That will only continue as Messi and his club continue to win matches this season.

Who Has Inter Miami Picks?

If you know anything about betting on soccer, there is the potential for some big wins. The three-way moneyline allows soccer bettors to wager on Team A, Team B, or a Draw. Draws happen more often in soccer than in any other sport. Leagues like the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB all have some form of overtime or extra play to determine a winner.

For example, in today’s Inter Miami-Orlando City matchup, Inter Miami is a -164 favorite to win. Orlando City is a +400 underdog. Bettors can also wager on the teams playing to a draw at +300 odds. Keep in mind that Inter Miami played to a draw last Saturday.

He had 34 on Wednesday in a win over the Clippers and followed it up with 31 on Thursday in a victory over Washington in overtime. The Lakers host Denver tonight at Crypto.com Arena.

LeBron isn’t the only athlete trending.

  • The ongoing saga of Caleb Williams: Potential No. 1 NFL draft picks Caleb Williams will not undergo medical testing and will not release any medical records to NFL teams. It’s just the latest in William’s song-and-dance routine with the NFL. He will not throw or go through any drills at the NFL combine either.
  • C-note: Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon hit his 100th point of the season last night. He had a goal and an assist in the Avs 5-0 win over Chicago. MacKinnon is second in the league in points. Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov has 104 points.
