This week’s Euro soccer top leagues picks will focus on Serie A Matchday 5 picks. Welcome back to my weekly Euro soccer picks article where I provide you with my top five picks from European soccer.

Just two out of my five picks landed last week as I focused on La Liga Matchday 5 picks. I want to improve that this week so hopefully I can start heading closer to picking more winners and hit that 100% mark.

My European Soccer Weekly Review was published earlier this week which has helped provide me with key statistics and betting trends to prepare me for my picks. It’s got some really useful information in there so make sure you check it out.

As always, I will start with a quick recap of what’s been happening across Europe’s top five leagues. Following the recap, I will start sharing my picks with you. This week’s focus is on Serie A Matchday 5 picks.

Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Recap

Premier League

Yes, I know I begin with Manchester City every week. But they just won’t let up. They have won all five of their matches and sit at the top of the pile. They’re going to be incredibly tough to beat this season. At the other end of the table, Luton Town remain at the bottom without a point.

I had one Premier League pick last week which unfortunately didn’t hit. I had over 2.5 goals in the Burnley vs Nottingham Forest match which ended 1-1.

Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain surprisingly lost last Friday at home to Nice as their slow start continues. With them usually being heavy favorites, I would recommend staying away from them for now.

Monaco are still yet to lose and sit atop the Ligue 1 standings, whilst Brest have also made a strong beginning to the campaign. Lens and Clermont continue to struggle at the foot of the standings.

La Liga

Real Madrid are the top dogs in La Liga and, like Man City, have won all five of their opening league games. They have the best defensive record in the division and are looking back to their best after a poor domestic showing last term.

Just one of my three La Liga picks landed last week which was disappointing. Atletico Madrid didn’t turn up away at Valencia, whilst Athletic Bilbao put Cadiz to the sword in a 3-0 win. My over 1.5 first half goals bet in the Villarreal vs Almeria match hit though.

Bundesliga

The Bundesliga continues to provide great entertainment with a plethora of goals going in each week. My weekly review found that 88.89% of matches from Week 4 saw over 2.5 goals, whilst 66.67% of matches from Week 4 saw over 3.5 goals.

That trend should continue this week so I will be looking to find at least one selection from Germany this week in my picks. My only Bundesliga pick hit last week too. Stay tuned to find out what game I am choosing!

Serie A

75% of matches over the weekend saw over 2.5 Serie A goals and so the Italian top-flight looks to be a good market. That’s why Serie A Matchday 5 picks are the focus in this week’s Euro soccer picks.

Inter embarrassed their cross-city rivals Milan in the derby match last Saturday as they recorded a 5-1 triumph. The Nerazzurri continue to dominate the league, whilst Juventus put in an excellent showing at home to Lazio at the weekend.

Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Serie A Matchday 5 Picks

That’s it for my quick recap from Europe’s top five leagues. It’s now time for my Serie A Matchday 5 picks! Let’s find some winners this week.

The European club soccer schedule is pretty full this week with Champions League matches in action too. That means there is an abundance of soccer to bet on and league play starts on Friday as well.

Soccer is on non-stop this time of the year so now is a good time to keep track of what’s happening to make sure you continue winning and earning profits from your bets.

Serie A Matchday 5 Picks – Lecce vs Genoa Prediction

Currently sitting inside the top-four, Lecce welcome newly-promoted Genoa to Stadio Via del Mare on Friday evening. Let’s take a look at the current odds for the first of my Serie A Matchday 5 picks:

  • Lecce (+127)
  • Draw (+210)
  • Genoa (+215)

Lecce have made a surprise start to the campaign as they currently occupy fourth spot. They are unbeaten across their first four matches and have won both of their home games so far.

Genoa have had a fairly mixed start but have performed better against the stronger sides. They defeated Lazio 1-0 at Stadio Olimpico before drawing 2-2 at home to champions Napoli last weekend.

The Giallorossi appear to be at a big price considering their excellent opening to the season, especially since they are at home. That’s why I’m going for Lecce to triumph against Genoa.

Best Bet: Lecce (+127)

Serie A Matchday 5 Picks – Empoli vs Inter Prediction

A struggling Empoli side will fear last season’s Champions League finalists Inter on Sunday as the two sides meet at Stadio Carlo Castellani. Here are the current odds for the game:

  • Empoli (+660)
  • Draw (+400)
  • Inter (-303)

Inter have been perfect to open the 2023/24 season and sit top of the table after four matches, winning all of their games. They have the best attacking and defensive records in the division so have been seemingly perfect thus far.

It has been the complete opposite for Empoli who have had a disastrous start to the season. They sit bottom of the pile and have lost all four matches, failing to score a single goal. They were dismantled away to Roma last time out too as they suffered a 7-0 defeat.

The money line doesn’t give much value but this selection of my Serie A Matchday 5 picks will choose an alternative market.

Serie A Matchday 5 Picks – Torino vs Roma Prediction

The final pick of my Serie A Matchday 5 picks comes from Torino vs Roma as the two teams meet at Stadio Olimpico di Torino on Sunday. Below you can find the current odds for the encounter:

  • Torino (+200)
  • Draw (+195)
  • Roma (+148)

Both Torino and Roma enter this one on the back of emphatic wins over Salernitana and Empoli respectively. Torino defeated Salernitana 3-0 on Monday, whilst Roma recorded a 7-0 triumph at home to Empoli.

It could be a close game to call so I am staying clear of the money line. Nevertheless, both sides have seen plenty of goals of late and research has shown that Serie A goals could be a good market to target.

Alternative Euro Soccer Top League Picks

All of my Serie A Matchday 5 picks are in so now it’s time to take a look at some picks for the rest of Europe’s top five soccer leagues.

At least one Bundesliga selection will be on the cards since their matches are always filled with plenty of goals. The research is consistently showing the trend!

I am feeling confident with my Serie A Matchday 5 picks this week so hopefully I can hit 100%. Let’s find out what my alternative Euro soccer top league picks are.

Bundesliga Matchday 5 Picks – Union Berlin vs Hoffenheim Prediction

Having won their last three successive matches, Hoffenheim travel to the capital to face Union Berlin on Saturday at Stadio An der Alten Försterei. Let’s take a look at the latest odds for the match:

  • Union Berlin (+103)
  • Draw (+254)
  • Hoffenheim (+229)

The Bundesliga loves goals and so do Union Berlin and Hoffenheim. Both teams have 100% records in the over 2.5 goals market so far this season.

After making a strong start to the season by defeating Mainz and Darmstadt, Union have suffered back-to-back defeats. As for the visitors, they are on a run of three straight wins. It should be a fantastic affair.

La Liga Matchday 6 Picks – Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Prediction

It’s the Madrid derby between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid on Sunday as the two La Liga heavyweights clash at Metropolitano Stadium. Check out the current odds for the game here:

  • Atletico Madrid (+160)
  • Draw (+230)
  • Real Madrid (+155)

The visitors have been superb to start the campaign and have won all five games as they sit top of the standings. 60% of their games have seen over 2.5 goals so far.

As for Atletico, they have had a mixed start and have dropped points in their last two matches across all competitions. They lost 3-0 away to Valencia last time out, whilst a dramatic equalizer from Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel in the Champions League midweek saw them draw 1-1.
