A full slate of Tuesday NBA action featured clutch performances and high-octane scoring. Boston held off New York in a primetime showdown, and Minnesota needed overtime to overcome a short-handed New Orleans squad. Here’s how it all played out on the hardwood.
Celtics 123, Knicks 117
Jaylen Brown delivered a season-high 42 points to lead Boston past visiting New York. Brown shot 16-of-24 from the field and 8-of-9 from the line in his third 40-point game of the season. Derrick White added 22 points and five assists as the Celtics won for the fourth time in five games.
Mikal Bridges drained a career-high eight 3-pointers en route to a season-best 35 points, but his late triple wasn’t enough to close the gap. Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in 29 points and seven rebounds as the Knicks saw their four-game win streak snapped.
Raptors 121, Trail Blazers 118
Scottie Barnes paced Toronto with 28 points as the Raptors opened a five-game homestand with a narrow win over Portland. Immanuel Quickley added 23 points, and Brandon Ingram tallied 21 off the bench.
