Saturday’s MLB action brought drama, shutdown pitching, and plenty of fireworks across the league. Here’s your recap of the biggest storylines — and a few betting angles worth tracking.

Royals edge Tigers in classic pitcher’s duel

Michael Wacha and Tarik Skubal put on a show, each dominating over seven scoreless innings. But Kansas City finally broke through in the eighth when Vinnie Pasquantino’s RBI single plated Nick Loftin for a 1-0 victory. Wacha allowed just one hit, and John Schreiber closed the door to earn the win. For Skubal, despite another elite outing, it was a tough-luck loss.

Cubs blank Reds with pitching clinic

Chicago used four arms to combine for a one-hitter in a 2-0 win over Cincinnati. Seiya Suzuki broke the deadlock in the eighth with an RBI double. Ben Brown was stellar in relief, striking out nine in six scoreless innings — a promising sign for Cubs bettors.

Blue Jays outslug A’s in wild shootout

Toronto’s bats stayed hot as George Springer hit two homers in an 8-7 win over Oakland. Addison Barger and Bo Bichette also went deep, while the A’s have now dropped 16 of 17 games. The power surge bodes well for anyone tailing baseball service plays.

Orioles ride Kremer, Mateo to win over White Sox

Jorge Mateo launched his first homer of the year and Dean Kremer tossed six solid innings to lead Baltimore to a 4-2 win. Despite only five hits, the O’s made them count against a White Sox team that stranded 12 runners.

Sonny Gray, Cards outduel Rangers

St. Louis shut down Texas in a 2-0 win behind Sonny Gray’s seven scoreless innings and 10 Ks. The Cards made the most of five hits, and Gray continues to show why he’s one of the best betting value pitchers in baseball.

Brewers crush Phillies in statement win

Rhys Hoskins smashed two three-run homers and Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5 as Milwaukee hammered Philadelphia 17-7. Christian Yelich also had four hits as the Brewers won their sixth straight. Phillies ace Jesus Luzardo’s ERA ballooned from 2.15 to 3.58 after getting rocked.

Braves blast Red Sox behind Schwellenbach

Atlanta’s Spencer Schwellenbach struck out 11 over 6.1 shutout innings in a 5-0 win over Boston. Ronald Acuna Jr. and Austin Riley both went deep, while Red Sox starter Walker Buehler labored through 106 pitches.

Caminero powers Rays in 16-3 rout of Astros

Junior Caminero had two homers and two doubles, driving in five as Tampa Bay crushed Houston. Zack Littell went the distance in a 117-pitch complete game. The Rays lineup remains a profitable spot for over/under bettors using computer picks.

Marlins edge Giants thanks to Cabrera and defense

Edward Cabrera outdueled Robbie Ray in a 1-0 win for Miami. Key defensive gems and Javier Sanoja’s RBI single made the difference. Miami’s bullpen combo sealed the eight-hit shutout.

Guardians rally to beat Angels 7-5

Cleveland came back from a 4-0 hole behind big hits from Carlos Santana, Jose Ramirez and Gabriel Arias. Ramirez tied a franchise record for consecutive double-digit HR seasons. The Guardians are proving to be a live bet team late in games.

Mets dominate Rockies with long ball

New York crushed Colorado 8-2 as Brett Baty had a bases-clearing triple and Kodai Senga fanned seven over 6.1 innings. Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto went back-to-back, and the Mets have now won six of seven. Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela dropped to 1-10.

Dodgers destroy Yankees with 21-hit barrage

Max Muncy had two homers and seven RBIs, leading L.A. to an 18-2 demolition of New York. Rookie bats Hyeseong Kim and Dalton Rushing also homered. Dodgers starter Landon Knack was solid over six innings, while Aaron Judge hit two homers for the Yankees — his 21st of the year.
