Pavin Smith, Gabriel Moreno and Alek Thomas opened the ninth off Robert Suárez (1–2), and Ketel Marte beat out an infield single before Perdomo’s three-RBI triple. Eugenio Suárez’s three-run homer provided the early cushion, but a four-run San Diego seventh had given the Padres a seemingly safe lead.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants — 11–5
Clayton Kershaw spun seven scoreless innings and Shohei Ohtani homered twice as the Dodgers rolled past San Francisco. In his 61st career start against the Giants, Kershaw (2–0) scattered three hits with one walk and five strikeouts, moving within 12 K’s of 3,000 for his career. Casey Schmitt’s ninth-inning grand slam was the lone bright spot for the visitors.
Cincinnati Reds vs. Detroit Tigers — 11–1
Tyler Stephenson crushed a grand slam, Matt McLain hit a three-run homer, and Spencer Steer and Elly De La Cruz also went deep as Cincinnati pounded out a rout in Detroit. Brady Singer (7–4) twirled six strong innings, while Jack Flaherty (5–7) absorbed seven runs over 4⅔ frames in the loss.
Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates — 2–1
Matthew Boyd delivered six quality innings, allowing just Andrew McCutchen’s first-inning homer, and Dansby Swanson’s go-ahead shot in the sixth held up in Chicago’s series-opening win. Rookie Mike Burrows struck out eight without a walk over 5⅓ innings for the Pirates but did not factor in the decision.
Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals — 4–3
Jesus Sánchez homered and Calvin Faucher retired the side with the bases loaded in the ninth to preserve Miami’s win in a rain-delayed affair. Rookie Janson Junk (1–0) worked 5⅔ relief innings, and the Nationals fell to seven straight losses despite James Wood’s 3-for-5 performance.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels — 6–5
Cedric Mullins and Gary Sánchez, fresh off the IL, hit back-to-back homers in a three-run sixth that powered Baltimore past Los Angeles. Jordan Westburg drove in two and Adley Rutschman collected two hits in the win, while Mike Trout and Luis Rengifo homered for the Angels.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Toronto Blue Jays — 3–2
Max Kepler’s go-ahead homer in the eighth lifted Philadelphia over Toronto in the opener. Orion Kerkering earned the win with a perfect eighth, and Matt Strahm closed out his third save. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ernie Clement each had two hits for the Jays.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Mets — 8–4
Danny Jansen’s two-run homer capped a six-run fourth for Tampa Bay, handing New York a rare Citi Field loss. Drew Rasmussen (6–4) picked up the win despite allowing four runs over five innings. William Taylor’s under-8.5 total pick at –105 on this game did not cash, part of his 2–1 performance yesterday for +$126.

Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins — 3–2
Rookie Cam Smith bounced a first-pitch, walk-off single in the ninth to lift Houston. Hunter Brown and Joe Ryan dueled through seven innings each, with Brown striking out a career-high 12 before leaving matters to Josh Hader (3–0).
Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees — 4–3
Hunter Dobbins spun six shutout innings, and Greg Weissert stranded a runner in the ninth before earning his second save in Boston’s extra-inning win. Aaron Judge’s 26th homer tied it in the ninth, but the Red Sox prevailed in the 10th.
Oakland Athletics vs. Kansas City Royals — 4–0
Jacob Lopez struck out nine over six scoreless innings, while Max Muncy’s two-run homer provided all the runs in Oakland’s shutout. The A’s snapped their 14-game road losing streak with their second straight series win.
Atlanta Braves vs. Colorado Rockies — 4–1
Spencer Strider fanned a season-high 13 over six scoreless innings, and Ronald Acuña Jr.’s three-run homer in the sixth powered Atlanta to its third win in four games.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers — 8–5
Nolan Gorman’s three-run shot and Willson Contreras’s solo homer belted St. Louis past Milwaukee, snapping a six-game slide. Kyle Leahy (2–1) recorded 1⅔ relief innings for the win. Tonny Ricci’s money-line pick on Milwaukee at –128 cashed, part of his flawless 3–0 day for +$220.
Texas Rangers vs. Chicago White Sox — 5–4 (11 innings)
