These Head Coaches Are the Best ATS
It pays to do a little research into teams that typically cover the point spread. You can take that a step further and look into coaches whose teams cover the point spread. Over the past four seasons, three head coaches have combined to cover the spread 67 percent of the time. The names and programs will surprise you.
No. 1 on the list is Oregon State and head coach Jonathan Smith. He is 32-14-1 ATS since 2019. Willie Fritz of Tulane is second at 35-18 ATS, and Kansas State’s Chris Klieman is 33-17-2 ATS. What do all three programs and coaches have in common? They rely heavily on running the football. Last year, all three teams finished among the top 25 rushing offenses in the country. Strong running games and ATS records correlate. Don’t forget that when you make your Week 7 NCAA football picks.

Best Pick ATS
Trying to find the best ATS option should always be a focus when making Week 7 NCAA Football picks. The best option is in the Big Ten Conference as the Michigan State Spartans visit the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
It has been a rough few weeks for the Michigan State football program, and it’s hard to see that team being very successful this weekend. Rutgers has gone 4-2 so far this season, and they are going to take care of business at home.
Best Moneyline Pick
USC vs Notre Dame is always one of the biggest games of the year, and that rivalry will renew again this weekend. The Trojans come into this game with a perfect 6-0 record, while Notre Dame has gone just 5-2 through their first seven games.
This is going to be the toughest test of the season for USC, and there is a reason that they are 2.5-point underdogs in this game. Notre Dame just doesn’t score well enough on offense, though, and they eventually can’t keep up in a loss.
Best Total Pick
The Kansas State Wildcats and Texas Tech Red Raiders are set to meet up on Saturday for a big showdown in the Big 12 Conference. Both teams have been struggling a bit this season, but the Red Raiders have won two games in a row.
Texas Tech has been rolling on offense of late, but they are facing a Kansas State team that can shut this team down. The Wildcats don’t have the offensive firepower to put up points in a hurry, and that’s going to keep the total point count down in this one.
Best Player Prop
Oregon and Washington are set to meet up this weekend in what will be the best game of them all. This is a matchup of top 10 teams, and the winner is going to get a leg up in the Pac-12 Conference standings.
Washington is a team that wants to throw the football deep in order to win games, and that is going to put pressure on Oregon to do the same. Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has been terrific this season, and he is going to have at least three passing touchdowns in this one.
Best Team Prop
The Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Purdue on Saturday for a matchup with the Boilermakers, and they are big betting favorites. Ohio State hasn’t looked as sharp in recent weeks, but there is still a ton of talent on this team.
Purdue is a team that struggles to score, and they don’t have a defense that can shut down Ohio State in this game. Bet on the Buckeyes to find the end zone at least five times, as that is one of the Week 7 NCAA football picks that you should be making.
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
Arkansas and Alabama are set to meet up for an SEC battle on Saturday, and there is a big spread in this game. It has been another rough season for the Razorbacks, but the spread in this game is a bit disrespectful.
It does seem as if Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is starting to figure things out, but he has also struggled at times with accuracy. Arkansas isn’t going to have a shot to win this game, but they can keep this one within 19 points.
Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Kansas Jayhawks are having a terrific season at 5-1, and they head to face the 3-2 Oklahoma State Cowboys this weekend. Kansas is a team that can light up the scoreboard, but they also struggle to get stops at times.
This Jayhawks team is going to be talented enough to win this game, but it’s a bit risky to take them at -3.5. Oklahoma State will give Kansas some issues, and simply betting on the Jayhawks to survive is the way to go.
Miami Hurricanes vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
The ACC title race is still wide open through six weeks, and both Miami and North Carolina are in the mix. Miami should actually come into this game with a perfect 5-0 record, but they had a huge mistake at the end of Week 6 to lose to Georgia Tech.
North Carolina is a dominant offensive team, and they know how to put points on the board in a hurry. Playing at home will give the Tar Heels a boost as well as they are going to roll to a dominant win on Saturday.
Missouri Tigers vs. Kentucky Wildcats
A pair of 5-1 SEC teams will meet up this weekend as the Missouri Tigers visit the Kentucky Wildcats. Both teams were actually undefeated heading into Week 6, but both teams were knocked off to set up a big matchup in this one.
Missouri is a team that wants to win games with offense, but that just doesn’t work on the road in the SEC. The Wildcats are going to take control of this game on defense, and they will eventually get some separation from Missouri.
UCLA Bruins vs. Oregon State Beavers
The most impressive upset this weekend will take place in the Pac-12 Conference as the UCLA Bruins are set to visit the Oregon State Beavers. The winner of this game will keep pace in the conference standings, while the loser will suffer a tough defeat.
Oregon State has been terrific on offense so far this season, but it will be the defense of the UCLA Bruins that makes the difference in this game. You will get some value in making Week 7 NCAA football picks and taking the Bruins, as they will get the job done at Oregon State.

Week 7 NCAA Football Picks FAQs
Does Sports Hub offer free college football picks?
That’s a great question. Each and every week, Sports Hub handicappers release a variety of free picks. In addition to the Week 7 NCAA football picks pages, Sports Hub users should check the Free Picks section at the Pick Center on our home page. You can access all of our free CFB picks there.
What does “laying the points” mean?
If you are relatively new to sports betting, you may have heard this phrase. Even if you have been betting for a while, “laying the points” might not be entirely clear. It’s pretty simple though. A team that is favored is “laying the points.” For example, if Georgia is a -7 favorite against Florida, it can be said that the Bulldogs are “laying the points.” In that case, they are laying 7 points to the Gators. Check the Week 7 NCAA football picks page to see which teams are laying the points.
How do I know if a CFB team is the underdog?
If you are familiar with identifying a CFB favorite, it should be pretty easy to pick out the underdog. Typically, a college football underdog can be identified as the team with the positive odds on the moneyline or the positive point spread. Look at the following example.
Minnesota +220 +7 (-110)
North Carolina -260 -7 (-110)
In this case, it’s clear that Minnesota is the underdog as indicated by the +220 odds and the +7 point spread.
