Top 25 Game Recaps
Tuesday’s ranked slate delivered a little bit of everything: upsets, offensive explosions, tight finishes, and dominant wire-to-wire covers. For bettors, the board rewarded those who were keyed in on pace, injury news, and late-game execution. UCLA flipped a near-certain loss into a home win over Purdue with one clean look in the final seconds. Miami (OH) needed overtime to stay undefeated in a high-scoring shootout, while Texas Tech lit up Baylor from deep and never let them back in. A few double-digit wins came easy, but others came down to the final possession — and the final shot. Here’s the full recap of how each Top 25 team fared and what mattered most from a betting perspective.
UCLA vs No. 4 Purdue Recap: UCLA wins 69-67
Tyler Bilodeau hit a go-ahead three with 8.4 seconds left, capping an 8-0 closing run as UCLA upset No. 4 Purdue. The Bruins shot 65.2% in the second half and 56.9% overall, with Donovan Dent leading the way with 23 points and 13 assists. Purdue’s nine-game win streak came to an end as they failed to score in the final 90 seconds. C.J. Cox had 16 for the Boilermakers, but they couldn’t close it out late.
No. 3 Michigan vs Indiana Recap: Michigan wins 86-72
Michigan rolled to its third straight win, controlling the game from start to finish. Elliot Cadeau scored 19, Yaxel Lendeborg added 15, and the Wolverines shot over 50%. Indiana struggled from the field and lost its fourth in a row. Even during a 7:36 field-goal drought for Michigan late, the Hoosiers couldn’t close the gap.
No. 9 Iowa State vs UCF Recap: Iowa State wins 87-57
Joshua Jefferson recorded a 17-12-10 triple-double and added four steals as Iowa State bounced back with a rout of UCF. The Cyclones ended the first half on a 13-0 run and stretched the margin to 30+ in the second. Milan Momcilovic chipped in 20 points and hit four threes. UCF had 19 turnovers and never got in rhythm offensively.
No. 10 Michigan State vs Oregon Recap: Michigan State wins 68-52
Carson Cooper had a career night with 19 points and four blocks as Michigan State notched its fifth straight double-digit win. The Spartans defended well, crashed the boards, and played through their post scorers. Oregon remained short-handed and couldn’t overcome the size disadvantage. Coen Carr and Jeremy Fears Jr. combined for 29 for MSU.
No. 12 Texas Tech vs Baylor Recap: Texas Tech wins 92-73
Christian Anderson exploded for 26 points and hit eight threes, leading Texas Tech to a blowout win. The Red Raiders tied a school record with 17 threes and never looked back after jumping out to a 19-point halftime lead. Baylor’s defense collapsed again as they allowed 90+ for the second time in three games. Cameron Carr scored 18 in the loss.
No. 20 Arkansas vs No. 15 Vanderbilt Recap: Arkansas wins 93-68
Arkansas overwhelmed Vanderbilt with five players in double figures and a dominant rebounding effort. Darius Acuff Jr. led with 17, and the Razorbacks built an early lead they never gave back. Vandy has now dropped three straight after a 16-0 start. Tyler Nickel scored 17 but got little help as the Commodores trailed big early.
No. 16 Florida vs LSU Recap: Florida wins 79-61
Rueben Chinyelu put up 15 points and 21 rebounds, and Florida dominated the paint in a 79-61 home win. The Gators won the rebounding battle 50-30 and got 18 off the bench from Urban Klavzar. LSU welcomed back Dedan Thomas Jr., but he shot just 1-of-8. Florida extended its win streak to five and covered comfortably.
North Carolina State vs No. 18 Clemson Recap: NC State wins 80-76 (OT)
NC State got a huge resume win, taking down Clemson in overtime behind 22 from Ven-Allen Lubin. Darrion Williams added 17, and the Wolfpack executed down the stretch after nearly giving it away in regulation. Clemson’s nine-game win streak ended, and they lost control of the ACC lead. RJ Godfrey scored 16 for the Tigers.
No. 19 Kansas vs Colorado Recap: Kansas wins 75-69
Without head coach Bill Self, Kansas leaned on Melvin Council Jr. (18 pts, 7 reb) and Tre White (17 pts, 15 reb) to outlast Colorado on the road. Jacque Vaughn stepped in as acting coach. The Jayhawks kept control most of the way and covered late as Colorado couldn’t string together stops.
No. 21 Georgia vs Missouri Recap: Georgia wins 74-72
Marcus Millender hit a three-point play with 5.5 seconds left to lift Georgia to a road win in Columbia. Millender scored 18, and Georgia cashed as a short road dog. Missouri took its first home loss of the season despite a go-ahead 3 from Jacob Crews with 18 seconds remaining.
No. 24 Saint Louis vs Duquesne Recap: Saint Louis wins 81-77
The Billikens held off Duquesne behind 14 from Trey Green and balanced scoring across the lineup. Robbie Avila and Dion Brown added 14 each as SLU avoided a letdown in their first game ranked since 2021. Jimmie Williams poured in 28 for Duquesne, but Saint Louis made the plays in the final two minutes to close it.
No. 25 Miami (OH) vs Kent State Recap: Miami wins 107-101 (OT)
Miami (OH) stayed perfect at 20-0 thanks to a clutch bank shot by Luke Skaljac to force overtime and five more points from him in OT. Peter Suder nearly had a triple-double with 27-10-8, and Eian Elmer added 25. Kent State got 27 and 14 from Rob Whaley Jr., but it wasn’t enough. Miami cashed in a high-scoring over spot and continues to roll in MAC play.
