NBA roundup: Magic overtake Grizzlies for win in Berlin

This slate was all about swings. A couple teams flipped games with one brutal quarter, others simply won the 3-point math and never let go. Orlando’s third-quarter clampdown and OKC’s fourth-quarter shot-making were the cleanest examples, and Boston’s late rally in Miami was the reminder that closing offense still matters most. If you want a simple framework for reading these runs without overreacting, the Bettor’s Handbook is a solid baseline.

New York played without Jalen Brunson (ankle), with Miles McBride scoring 25 in his place, and OG Anunoby also scoring 25. The turning point came right after halftime: tied at 65 early in the third, Golden State ripped a 24-11 run fueled by threes, opened a 13-point lead, and the Knicks never got closer than seven the rest of the way. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 17 points and a season-high 20 rebounds.

The Lakers started fast and led 39-30 after one, but the entire game flipped in the second quarter when Charlotte outscored them 34-16 to take a 64-55 halftime lead and held Los Angeles to 27.8% shooting in the period. The Lakers made a push to 93-89 late in the third, then Charlotte answered by starting the fourth up 104-93 and closing with a decisive 14-3 run to make it 123-106. Miami led by as many as 19 in the first half and was still up 10 to start the fourth, but Boston kept getting stops and finally found the lead late. The Celtics took their first lead since the first quarter on a Sam Hauser three with 5:21 left, and Brown’s three with 4:05 remaining put Boston up 107-105 for good. Miami got 26 from Norman Powell and 22 each from Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, though Adebayo scored five in the second half. The Heat played without Davion Mitchell (shoulder) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (knee).

Trail Blazers vs Hawks Recap: Trail Blazers win 117-101

Atlanta pulled within 91-89 early in the fourth, and that was the moment. The Hawks trimmed it again to 105-98, then Portland scored nine straight to finish the job. Phoenix led 90-89 after three and scored the first four points of the fourth, but Detroit responded with a 13-2 run that flipped control. The Pistons got to 104-100 late, and Phoenix had chances, but after Grayson Allen made it 105-102, the Suns missed their next three shots. Allen finished with 33, hit a three with 3.1 seconds left to keep it alive, but Detroit did enough at the line to survive. Cade Cunningham returned from a wrist injury and was held to 10 points on 3-for-16 shooting. Devin Booker missed for Phoenix with a left ankle sprain.

Thunder vs Rockets Recap: Thunder win 111-91

Oklahoma City beat Houston 111-91 to extend its winning streak to five. Chet Holmgren had 18 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks, Ajay Mitchell scored 17 off the bench, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 20 to extend his 20-plus streak to 111 games.

This game was tight entering the fourth at 77-75, then OKC’s three-point burst created the separation. Houston could not match it: the Rockets missed 17 of 24 threes, and Kevin Durant led them with 19 points on 7-for-23 shooting. Jabari Smith Jr. had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Alperen Sengun posted 14 points and 13 boards, but OKC’s shot-making and defensive rhythm ended the comeback before it started.

Spurs vs Bucks Recap: Spurs win 119-101

Wembanyama hit five threes on six attempts, and the Spurs were far more efficient inside the arc. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 21, Kyle Kuzma had 18, and Bobby Portis added 13 as the Bucks dropped their third straight.

NBA Picks and Handicappers

If you’re betting NBA consistently, the edge is usually in repetition, not in one-night narratives. You want multiple viewpoints, different styles, and the ability to compare who’s actually seeing the game the same way you are. That’s why browsing the handicapper roster matters. You can find a capper who fits your approach and track results across the same slate.

For day-to-day volume, the basketball service plays hub is where the market-facing picks live, and it’s easier to scan when you’re building a card across multiple games. If you want full access and you’re serious about playing regularly, check the pricing packages and match the plan to how many bets you actually make.
