Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists as the Dallas Stars defeated the visiting San Jose Sharks 4-1 on Friday to extend their points streak to nine games (7-0-2).
Since the start of the 2015-16 season, the Stars are 12-1-0 in 13 home games against the Sharks. Sam Steel, Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen also scored for Dallas, while Wyatt Johnston chipped in two assists. Jake Oettinger stopped 16 of 17 shots to earn his fifth consecutive victory, giving Dallas backers another strong data point on the NHL odds and scores screen.
Yaroslav Askarov stopped 20 of 23 shots for the Sharks, who are on a two-game skid. Collin Graf recorded San Jose’s lone goal.

Beckett Sennecke and Ross Johnston each had a goal and an assist and Anaheim outlasted visiting Washington in a shootout.
Troy Terry and Mason McTavish converted in the shootout for the Ducks, who rallied three separate times from one-goal deficits in regulation. Cutter Gauthier added a goal and Ville Husso made 18 saves as Anaheim bounced back from a 7-0 home loss to the Utah Mammoth on Wednesday.
Tom Wilson, Ethen Frank and Aliaksei Protas scored for the Capitals, who had a six-game winning streak snapped in the finale of a four-game road trip. Logan Thompson made 35 saves, and Anthony Beauvillier had Washington’s lone goal in the shootout.
Golden Knights 3, Devils 0
Akira Schmid made 24 saves for his second shutout of the season as Vegas blanked New Jersey in Newark.
It was the third career shutout for Schmid, who improved to 10-2-4, a career high in wins. A fifth-round pick by the Devils in 2018, Schmid was facing his former team for the first time after going 14-18-3 across three seasons with New Jersey from 2021-24.
Shea Theodore had a goal and an assist, Jack Eichel recorded two helpers and Tomas Hertl and Ivan Barbashev also scored for the Golden Knights, who won their third straight. Jacob Markstrom finished with 22 saves for the Devils, who dropped their fourth game in a row, another reminder of how quickly form can swing for or against teams in NHL betting 101.

Karel Vejmelka stopped 31 of 32 shots and Kevin Stenlund and Mikhail Sergachev each posted a goal and an assist to spark Utah to a road win over Vancouver.
Vejmelka turned in his second straight standout performance after shutting out Anaheim two nights earlier. Nick Schmaltz and John Marino also scored for the Mammoth, who have now won two in a row after a four-game losing streak.
Arshdeep Bains scored the lone goal for the Canucks, who opened a four-game homestand by suffering their fourth straight defeat. Kevin Lankinen made 14 saves.
Jets 4, Sabres 1
Eric Comrie made 34 saves as Winnipeg handled visiting Buffalo.
Kyle Connor, Tanner Pearson and Cole Koepke scored for the Jets, who won for just the second time in their past eight games and showed the kind of offensive balance handicappers look for when trying to find the best hockey picks all season.
Jason Zucker scored and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 19 shots for the Sabres, who have now dropped two straight after winning four of their previous six.
