Taiwan caps dominant run with 18th LLWS crown

Lin Chin-Tse did it all in South Williamsport, tossing five innings of one-hit ball and clearing the bases with a fifth-inning triple to power Taiwan (Tung-Yuan LL) past U.S. champion Las Vegas, 7–0, in the Little League World Series title game. Lin carried a perfect game into the fifth and still faced the minimum over his outing, erasing the lone hit he allowed with a double play. His two-out triple—delivered after three straight one-out walks—broke the game open as part of a five-run fifth that gave Taiwan plenty of breathing room. Chen Qi-Sheng handled the sixth, working around two hits with a double play and a flyout to finish the shutout. Luke D’Ambrosio battled for Nevada (2 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 3 K in 4 IP) and chipped in one of his team’s three hits, but Taiwan’s staff and defense never cracked. It’s Taiwan’s record 18th LLWS title—and first since 1996—capping a 5–0 week in which the champions outscored opponents 22–3.

Connecticut claims consolation behind Taxiltaridis’ spark

SJ Taxiltaridis supplied the key swing and plenty of hustle as Connecticut topped Aruba 4–2 in the consolation game. With two outs in the third, Logan Gryga singled to ignite a rally, Luca Pellegrini followed with a knock, and Taxiltaridis ripped a double to left to score both runners before sprinting home on a wild pitch for a 3–0 cushion. Aruba answered in the bottom half on a Cayden Fraser RBI triple and a Josiah Koolman groundout, but Connecticut added insurance in the sixth when Taxiltaridis scored on a Jimmy Taxiltaridis groundout. Three Metro Region arms combined for seven strikeouts, with Brian Palazzolo earning the win in relief and Tommy D’Amura closing with 3 1/3 hitless frames. Caribbean starter Anthony Santos kept Aruba in it (5 1/3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 6 K), yet Fairfield LL’s timely hits and lockdown bullpen carried the day.
