Kyle Schwarber drove in five runs and Trea Turner collected five hits as Philadelphia completed a sweep of Seattle. Starter Jesús Luzardo (12-6) struck out 12 in six dominant innings.

Philadelphia produced 20 hits in total, with Schwarber blasting a homer and double, while Turner finished 5-for-6 with three runs scored. Julio Rodríguez and Eugenio Suárez hit solo shots for Seattle, which dropped its fifth straight.

Nationals 5, Mets 4

Josh Bell homered and Dylan Crews added an RBI double as Washington snapped New York’s three-game winning streak. Starter Brad Lord (4-6) battled through 5 1/3 innings before the bullpen closed it out.

Brett Baty hit a solo homer for the Mets, but Kodai Senga (7-5) was tagged for five runs in five innings.

Detroit exploded for six runs in the first inning, completing a series sweep of Houston. Dillon Dingler’s RBI triple sparked the rally, while Javier Báez added two RBIs.

Mauricio Dubón’s two-run homer broke Houston’s 31-inning scoring drought, but Framber Valdez (11-7) allowed seven runs in five innings.
