MLB roundup: Tigers nip Astros 1-0 in 10

Tigers Edge Astros in 10th

Detroit fans went home happy after a tense pitchers’ duel turned into a walk-off win. Gleyber Torres drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning, scoring Wenceel Perez to secure a 1-0 victory over the Houston Astros.

Tarik Skubal was brilliant, fanning 10 over seven innings while allowing just three hits. Hunter Brown nearly matched him for Houston, striking out six in six innings. But the Astros’ bats went silent once again, shut out for the fourth time in five games and extending their scoring drought to 28 innings.

Chicago wasn’t short on offense either, with Kyle Teel homering and Luis Robert Jr. driving in three. But Atlanta’s late push delivered their sixth win in seven games.
