Dolphins 24, Lions 17

Rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers made a strong impression for Miami, throwing two touchdown passes to Theo Wease Jr. in a 24-17 win over Detroit. The seventh-round pick from Texas completed 11 of 17 passes for 116 yards, while Wease hauled in six catches for 80 yards and both scores. Zach Wilson also looked sharp, going 15-for-23 for 151 yards and connecting with Dee Eskridge for an 11-yard touchdown. On the other side, Lions quarterback Kyle Allen completed 14 of 17 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as Detroit dropped to 1-2 in preseason play.
