Monday night in Major League Baseball was a spectacular showcase of late-game heroics and overwhelming offensive firepower. The evening was defined by thrilling conclusions, from a stunning walk-off home run in extra innings to dramatic ninth-inning rallies. In other ballparks, teams put on awesome displays of power, setting season highs for hits and runs in dominant blowout victories. It was a night that delivered highlight-reel plays and lopsided wins in equal measure, a thrilling slate of games that offered plenty of surprises for fans and sports handicappers alike.

Jung’s 10th-Inning Walk-Off Homer Stuns Yankees

Josh Jung was the hero in Arlington, rocketing a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Texas Rangers an incredible 8-5 walk-off victory over the slumping New York Yankees. After the Yankees failed to score in the top of the frame, reliever Jake Bird intentionally walked Wyatt Langford to face Jung, who made them pay by launching a fastball into the left-field stands. The dramatic finish was set up by Joc Pederson, who hit a pinch-hit solo homer in the ninth inning to tie the game and force extras. The loss was the fourth straight for New York.

Blue Jays Erupt for 25 Hits in 15-1 Rout of Rockies

The Toronto Blue Jays’ offense put on a breathtaking display in the thin air of Denver, collecting a season-high 25 hits in a 15-1 annihilation of the Colorado Rockies. Bo Bichette had a massive night, hitting two home runs and driving in six, while Ernie Clement recorded a career-high five hits. The Blue Jays’ historic performance was a top story, a result that will be featured on all major sports picks sites. Daulton Varsho also homered and drove in four to back a strong start from Eric Lauer, who allowed just one run over six innings.

Kyle Schwarber continued his incredible power surge, hitting his 39th and 40th home runs of the season and driving in six runs to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 13-3 home win over the Baltimore Orioles. Schwarber’s second homer was a grand slam that capped a wild, eight-run sixth inning in which the Phillies scored all their runs with two outs. Harrison Bader also hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the frame, his first since joining the team. Schwarber reaching the 40-homer plateau again puts him near the top of the MLB home run leaderboard.
