It was a busy Monday across the ATP Tour with early-round upsets in Stockholm, solid American showings in Brussels, and clean wins from seeds in Almaty.

Nordic Open – Stockholm, Sweden

Sebastian Korda, Jacob Fearnley, and Miomir Kecmanovic all advanced with upsets over seeded opponents in first-round play.
Korda rallied to defeat seventh seed Alexei Popyrin 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-3, striking cleanly in the final two sets.

Fearnley edged fifth seed Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-7 (8), 7-6 (5) in a 2-hour, 44-minute battle with no service breaks in the deciding set. Kecmanovic dismissed sixth seed Alexandre Muller 6-4, 6-1.

In the final match, Sweden’s Leo Borg thrilled the home crowd with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Austria’s Sebastian Ofner. Borg, ranked No. 622, is the son of 11-time Grand Slam champion Bjorn Borg.

Capper Insight: Straight-set wins have cashed in six of the past eight Stockholm openers, continuing a profitable trend for early-round favorites highlighted in the Bettors Handbook.

European Open – Brussels, Belgium

Marcus Giron dominated his opener against Mattia Bellucci 6-3, 6-4 behind 10 aces and no double faults. The American won 82 percent of his first-serve points in 78 minutes.

Fellow American Reilly Opelka fell 6-4, 6-4 to France’s Benjamin Bonzi in a baseline-heavy contest.

Capper Insight: Giron continues to outperform on indoor surfaces, now 5-1 ATS in first-round matches since August. Track his next appearance via the Odds & Scores.

Almaty Open – Almaty, Kazakhstan

Seeds Gabriel Diallo and Corentin Moutet each won in straight sets to reach the second round.
Diallo defeated 17-year-old Amir Omarkhanov 6-3, 6-1, winning 25 of 27 first-serve points and facing no break chances.

Moutet topped Bernard Tomic 6-1, 7-6 (9), saving five set points in the second-set tiebreaker.

Capper Insight: Moutet’s consistency late in sets has made him one of the most reliable tiebreak performers on the Challenger circuit — one reason several Handicappers keep backing his overs.
